North Dakota ‘s unemployment rate, currently at 2.8% , is for full employment. Anyone who wants a job in the state could reportedly get one. According to the report, the state is trying to attract applicants- of all skills- from states such as Michigan, where the unemployment rate is at 7.4%, to ensure that the growing needs of the shale industry in the state is met.

Workers can make six figures working in the oil fields. Other workers such as those in the fast food industry that feeds the growing population, can gain hiring bonuses.
