Keystone XL Pipeline May Still Be Approved
The Keystone XL Pipeline will likely be approved in the coming year now that the bill proposing to approve the project is gaining support with State Republicans. According to a Bakken article published last week, an estimated 57 votes out of 100 are in favor of pushing for the construction of the pipeline that will deliver oil from Alberta to Nebraska.
The project has been stalled because the Obama administration has yet to approve the project because of environmental concerns; but with senate support, the president might be painted into a corner with very little choice but to give the project the greenlight, according to some analysts.
The project requires presidential approval because the pipeline crosses a national border. The nation is divided on the issue and has been a discussion focus on climate change and the environment.
