Challenges And Opportunities In Canada’s Energy Sector
In an interview with Breanna Atkinov of Reos Partners, Peter Tertzakian, the Chief Energy Economist and Director of Arc Financial discussed the challenges and opportunities in Canada’s energy sector.
Tertzakian believes the industry is going to change in a big and meaningful way. The executive remarked that the innovation in the industry beginning in 2008/2009 has been profound.
Aside from the economic aspect, Tertzakian also discussed the need to address environmental issues as well as the need to adapt to new systems and build new relationships to ensure Canada’s strong position as one of the top producers of oil.
On the greater cooperation between stakeholders, he remarked, “Everybody has to accept some sense of burden, even if it means having a power line not too far from you. That may be the thing you have to accept for the greater good of the country.”
