California To Implement New Safety Regulations For Oil Refineries
Setting new safety regulations is on the agenda for the State of California.
It has become necessary to look into safer work practices with the advent of aging refineries that were not set up with proper safety practices that would help eliminate accidents.
Failures in equipment, injury and loss of life in the oil and gas industry are much higher in the USA than in other well regulated Western markets. With gas costs the highest in the country on the western shore, injuries at oil refineries can cause production and fuel costs to raise, particularly near communities where the protection of the town’s citizens is of utmost importance as well as the manufacturer’s employees.
There are reports of such occurrences such as outdated corroded pipes bursting and not having a backup plan in place to deal with such incidents.
With products such as fuel assisting in the financial status of the country, it is important to sustain a high quality of technology and safety practices. The proper protection and security of employees is crucial if the USA is to become a high quality regulated and therefore more effective leader in the oil refinery business.
California’s new refinery rules are set to decrease the risk presented to employees and the encompassing communities from the dangers of flammable substances such as oil and fuel that is produced from the oil during the refining process.
