Electric Submersible Pump Improves Oil Production
According to a news report, Strata-X, a company involved in gas exploration and development, has improved the performance of the Burkett 5-34 HOR well in Clay Country, Illinois.
This was done by using an electric submersible pump. Strata-X completed installing the replacement pump on October 21. The pump has helped the reservoir produce oil more effectively by drawing hydrostatic pressure in the well down.
The full results are not yet known but the total oil rate and oil cut have reportedly improved. The well has produced a high of 120 barrels in a span of 24 hours.
