How often should work wear be replaced?

The purpose of industrial work wear is to first off protect you and your workers from the elements and also to make them look professional.
The kind of protective apparel employees wear for work depends on the kind of job tasks they are assigned to do. Clothing that must be tough and rugged for hard manual work must be designed for just that and the image being portrayed that goes along with it.
Regardless of the work you do and the clothes you wear for work there comes a time when you need to replace them especially if they show signs of deterioration.
So the question is…. What leads to your decision to replace your work clothes?

Of course this all depends on your job and the requirements. For instance you could be working in the construction industry as the person in the ditches or the boss standing above giving instructions so the wear and tear on the garments is going to be completely different.
Following are some guidelines that may or may not apply to you but if you can use the suggestions then I have accomplished my mission.

You should replace your work wear for the following reason:

• When rules and regulations change or are updated
– safety clothing such as high visibility apparel is required for a good reason and you need to make sure you’re complying with the current rules and regulations. The requirements that are put out by organizations such as OSHA are updated as new risks and hazards are identified and your safety rep needs to be aware of the changes in your industry.

• Company Image
– Your company image is portrayed in both the quality of work you do and how you look. Promoting brand awareness by wearing professional and clean work wear along with having your company logo embroidered or printed on the garments can help co-workers and customers recognize and remember your company

• Wear and Tear
There comes a time when all good things just simply wear out. Depending on the industry but especially in the construction sector your work clothes will go through more than the normal wear and tear. Depending on the job buying good quality work clothing is usually a good idea but not always. Sometimes near disposable items are the way to go for example in painting but you can be the judge of that.
Replacing Work Wear regularly is necessary in order to uphold a professional look and provide the safety aspect that is the reason you purchased work clothing in the first place.
